MotoRadds App Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the MotoRadds mobile app ("the App") collects, uses, and shares information. It applies to the App only. Purchases made on our online store at motoradds.com are covered by the store's separate privacy policy.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, name, a unique username (your @handle), and — if you sign in with Apple or Google — the basic profile information those services share with us.

Profile content. Information you choose to add, such as a profile photo, vehicle details and photos, and club memberships.

Location. With your permission, the App collects your precise location to record your ride routes on the map, show riders and rides near you, and connect you to your local area chat. If you grant background location access, the App can keep recording your route when your screen is off or you switch apps during a ride, and can detect when a ride starts and ends. Location is not collected when you are not using these features, and it is never sold.

Content you create. Rides you log or organize, clubs you create or join, and messages you send in direct messages, ride chats, club chats, and area chats. Messages are stored so they can be delivered to participants.

Device information. A push notification token (so we can deliver notifications), your language, and your timezone.

Activity. Basic usage signals such as when you were last active, which powers the online indicator other riders can see.

How We Use Information

We use this information to operate the App: recording and displaying your rides, showing nearby riders and meetups, delivering messages and push notifications, displaying your profile to other users, keeping usernames unique, moderating reported content, and keeping the App safe and working. We do not sell your personal information, and the App does not show third-party advertising.

What Other Users Can See

Your profile (photo, @handle, name, vehicles, stats such as distance and ride count), your online status, and content you post in shared spaces (ride chats, club chats, area chats) are visible to other users. Ride routes are shared only when you choose to share them, and the App offers a privacy option that shows only your route shape with no map or place references.

Service Providers

The App is built on trusted infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf: Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, and server functions), Expo (app updates and push notification delivery), Google Maps (map display and place lookup), and Apple (Sign in with Apple, and payment processing if you ever make an in-app purchase; subscriptions, if offered, are managed through RevenueCat). If you choose to share a ride card to Instagram or another app, the image is shared only when you initiate it, and its use is then governed by that platform's own policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your information is kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time in the App under Settings → Delete Account, which removes your profile, rides, photos, memberships, and releases your @handle. You can also email us at the address below to request deletion.

Your Choices

You can decline or revoke location, photo, and notification permissions at any time in your device settings (some features, like ride recording, require location to work). You can mute conversations, block other users, and report inappropriate messages directly in the App.

Children

The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that limit each user to the data they are permitted to see. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
