MotoRadds App — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the MotoRadds mobile app. If you're shopping on our online store, that's governed by our separate store Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how MotoRadds, LLC ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the MotoRadds mobile app (the "Service"). We built MotoRadds for riders, not advertisers: we do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party ads in the app.

Information we collect

Account and profile information. When you create an account we collect your email address and name (via Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In), and any profile details you choose to add: username, bio, location text, profile photo, and the vehicles in your garage (make, model, photos).

Ride and location data. MotoRadds is a ride-logging app, so location is central to how it works. With your permission we collect: GPS route data while you record a ride (coordinates, distance, duration, lean angle — we deliberately do not compute or store speed statistics); your approximate location to show nearby riders and rides; and start/end addresses and times for rides you log manually.

Background location (optional). If you enable automatic ride detection in Settings, the app uses background location to detect when a trip starts and ends so it can offer to log the ride. This runs only if you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings or in your device's system settings. Background location is used solely for ride detection and in-ride route recording — not for navigation, advertising, or tracking you outside of rides.

Photos and camera. With your permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can set a profile picture, add vehicle photos, and (optionally) submit a verification selfie. Verification selfies are private, used only to review your verification request, and are never shown to other users.

Social content. Content you create in the app: direct messages, group ride chats, club posts and chats, friend connections, ride reviews and ratings, and QR-code connections. Direct messages are visible only to their participants.

Device information. Push notification token (if you enable notifications), device language and region (to localize the app and choose units), and basic diagnostic information.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide the Service: recording and displaying your rides, showing your profile and license card, connecting you with nearby riders, clubs, and group rides, delivering messages and notifications, reviewing verification requests, and maintaining leaderboards and challenges. We also use it to keep the Service safe (preventing abuse and enforcing our Terms) and to improve the app.

Who can see your information

Your profile, garage, ride history, and rider license card are visible to other signed-in MotoRadds users, subject to the privacy controls in Settings (for example, license card visibility can be set to public, friends-only, or private, and you can hide your email, location, garage, or stats). Direct messages are visible only to participants. Verification selfies are visible only to you and our review process.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run MotoRadds, and they process data only on our behalf:

Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions) stores your account, profile, rides, and content on Google Cloud servers in the United States. Google Maps Platform processes address searches, geocoding, and route calculations when you use maps and address autocomplete — these queries are sent to Google. Expo delivers push notifications and app updates. Apple and Google handle sign-in if you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account), which permanently deletes your profile, rides, photos, messages, and other personal data from our systems. You can also request deletion by emailing us at the address below. Some minimal records may be retained where required by law.

Your rights

You may access and update your profile information in the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Security

Your data is protected with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and per-user access rules on our database and file storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

Children

MotoRadds is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
